Our First Two Months

It was a very surreal moment when we opened the doors for the first time on July 26th. After imagining and planning an idea for so long, it was hard to believe our dreams were finally realised and we could share Big Sky Stories with our community. We are grateful to the many people who helped us get to this point in a myriad of ways. Your practical assistance, advice, encouraging words and financial support will be forever appreciated.

Thank you to all those who have wandered through since we opened to have a stickybeak, make a purchase, or spend time in the play space. It has been a delight to see so many children play with puppets, read a book and generally make themselves right at home. We have loved seeing each and every one of you. Young people, book hunters, caregivers and workshop participants have all left a little mark on Big Sky Stories.

Thank you also for your generosity in participating in our Pay it Forward program. We already have close to 100 books to redistribute to children in our far west community who might otherwise not have access to such a valuable resource. We have been touched by your personal stories of why you have chosen a particular book to pay forward. It has been heartwarming to meet so many people who understand the importance of access to quality books for a great start in life.

Thank you for sharing the vision of Big Sky Stories and supporting us to encourage, enable and equip the community of far west of NSW in creativity, language and literacy.
